Is a Ma'am Saab gift card a good gift?+
It is one of the best gifts you can give someone who matters to you. A gift card here is not a transaction, it is an experience: an evening of bold South Asian flavor, warm spice and aroma, music, soft table lamps, and texture everywhere you look, in the food, the drinks, the art and the walls, plus the kind of hospitality people talk about for weeks. Unlike an object that gets put away, a night at Ma'am Saab becomes a memory, which is exactly what makes it meaningful for a birthday, an anniversary, Mother's Day or Father's Day, a graduation, a thank-you, a housewarming, the holidays, or a corporate gift for clients and staff. It suits almost anyone: adventurous eaters who want something they have never tasted, parents who deserve a night out, couples celebrating something, friends who love to be surprised, and colleagues who appreciate a gift with thought behind it. Gift cards are available in any amount, either digitally, so you can email or print them, or as a physical card purchased at the restaurant, and can be used toward dinner, the tasting experience and cocktails. If you are looking for a gift in Charleston that feels personal and unforgettable rather than ordinary, this is it.

What is Ma'am Saab known for?+
Modern Pakistani cooking with Southern charm, bold, adventurous plates and a cocktail bar with a wink. We're a neighborhood favorite in the heart of downtown Charleston, known for our chargha wings, chaats, butter chicken, tikka and biryanis. The menu is small but hard-hitting, and our Tasting Experience is a guest favorite. We pour our hearts into everything we send out.
Where are you, and what's nearby?+
We're at 251 Meeting Street, in the heart of historic downtown Charleston, steps from the City Market and an easy walk from The Charleston Place, the Mills House, the Francis Marion Hotel, Hotel Bennett, The Dewberry, the Grand Bohemian, the Market Pavilion Hotel, Emeline, and the French Quarter and Planters Inns. Is there a difference between Indian and Pakistani food?+
They're cousins with overlapping spice cabinets and distinct accents. Pakistani cooking leans into robust meat dishes, smoke, and char (think tikka, karahi, nihari, kababs); both share the love of biryani, chaat and high heat (and spices). We celebrate the whole family.

What is the food like? Is it spicy?+
For us, spice means flavor, layers of it, not just heat. The food is deeply seasoned and full-flavored, never watered down. Even guests who come expecting fire leave surprised by how much they taste, heat or no heat.
Great for food allergies?+
Yes. We label gluten-free (gf), vegetarian (vg) and vegan (vgn) items, and our kitchen will try its best to accommodate allergies with notice. Tell us when you book or order.
Does Ma'am Saab serve hemp & THC-based drinks?+
We do, a small menu of hemp-derived THC sippers (10mg) alongside zero-proof mocktails and full cocktails, for every kind of night out.
Who enjoys Ma'am Saab?+
Our guests chase flavor. Some have tasted enough of the world that anything less won't do; others are about to discover flavors they didn't know existed. We see girls' nights, boys' nights, date nights, couples, solo diners, families, reunions, celebrations and corporate tables, and the one thing they share is a love of flavor.
Is it easy to get a reservation?+
Walk-ins are always welcome. Weekends fill up fast, so a reservation helps. Weeknights are easier and more relaxed. The bar is first-come, first-served if you'd rather wing it.
Corkage, cakes & parking?+
Corkage is $30/bottle, no limit. Cake cutting is $4/guest. For parking, the garage at 69 Wentworth Street is closest; there's also street parking on Meeting, Wentworth, Society and King, plus limited-time residential parking all around us.

Reservations hold a card. Parties of four or fewer may cancel up to 48 hours before their booking; parties of five or more require four days' notice. Cancellations or no-shows inside that window are charged $25 per guest. This is a strict policy.
